Dexter Jackson Wins 2016 Arnold Classic Europe

At age 47, Dexter Jackson nabs another victory by holding off Big Ramy at the 2016 Arnold Classic Europe. Though he placed a "disappointing" third at last weekend's 2016 Mr. Olympia, Jackson redeemed himself at this outing, showing up visibly sharper. He is now the most winningest professional bodybuilder beating out 8-time Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman. The top-6 of the Arnold Classic Europe went:

Young, Younger Guns | Compton vs. McCarver

Marcus Langford @TheBBMBlog
Marcus Langford @TheBBMBlog

This upcoming Mr. Olympia will definitely be a highly contested event. Not only do you have reigning champ Phil Heath going for his sixth straight Sandow but IFBB Hall of Fame pro Kevin Levrone is making a comeback at the age of 52 after being away from the stage for some 13 years. And of course, we can not forget about the ageless one, Dexter Jackson, who at age 47 and the #2 bodybuilder in the world, is aiming to dethrone Heath and nab his second Mr. Olympia title. With so many exceptional champions looking to work their way to the #1 spot, this year's "Super Bowl of bodybuilding" will be one for the books!

Kai Greene's Unforgettable Posing Routine [VIDEO]

There was a time in competitive bodybuilding, when the art of a finely choreographed posing routine was just as important as the competitor's muscle mass, symmetry, and definition! During the early years of the sport, pretty much all competitors took great pride in practicing their posing and showcasing a routine was both professional and theatrical-something that would make spectators marvel in amazement. Throughout the 70's, 80's, and 90's, a handful of bodybuilders made it their aim to bring polished posing routines to the stage; their transitions and stamina were seemingly effortless.

Kevin Levrone: One of the Best To Never Do It!

Baltimore, Maryland's Kevin Levrone is my second favorite bodybuilder of all-time behind Flex Wheeler. When I began to follow bodybuilding as a teenager in the mid-90s, I would cut Kevin's pictures out of the FLEX and Muscle & Fitness magazines and hang them up on my bedroom walls. I was always in awe of his incredible size and shape; he was thick with huge round shoulders, a big wide back, full chest, a tight waist with deep cuts, massive legs, bowling ball arm thickness, and superstar charisma to cap it all of! And in a day when most competitors turn pro and then take one to three years before making a professional debut, Kevin's rookie season in 1992 saw him win three out of his five competitions and earn his first of four Mr. Olympia runner-up placings. Having won 23 contests in his 11-year career, Kevin is the second winningest professional bodybuilder behind 8-time Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman, which earned him a place in the IFBB Hall of Fame in 2009.

Mamdouh “Big Ramy” Elssbiay Wins 2015 Arnold Classic Brazil

The monster from the Middle East stormed into the Arnold Classic Brazil, sporting an astonishing 315 pounds of massive muscle! While not the sharpest knife in the set, "Big Ramy" was ripped just enough to edge out a much better conditioned Cedric McMillan, who was much-improved from his Arnold Classic showing in March. Ramy also defeated recent NY Pro champ Juan Morel and veteran Victor Martinez in his dominant victory. The top-10 of the Arnold Classic Brazil went:

Dallas McCarver Wins 2015 California State Championships

Jackson, Tennessee's Dallas McCarver was just 21-years-old when he took overall honors at the 2012 NPC North Americans, making him the youngest IFBB professional bodybuilder. Just shy of three years after earning his pro card, the rookie McCarver stormed into the California State Championships carrying about 25 pounds of added beef to his frame and he carried it very well (especially in his legs and back). At 24-years-old, McCarver doesn't have the muscle maturity that most competitors 10 or even 20 years older than him have but the fact that he is young and has time to grow gives him a definite advantage. If he can stay healthy and free of injuries, this kid is definitely going to be making some noise over the coming years. Congrats on the win Dallas, you came to win and you did!

Juan Morel Wins 2015 NY Pro Open Bodybuilding

By winning the IFBB NY Pro, which Morel considers "his Mr. Olympia", he joins an elite group of pros that have gone on to have great careers starting from this prestigious New York-rooted competition. While I would have gone with his good friend Victor Martinez for the win, Morel's victory was deserving, especially considering that he didn't have an off-season and went right into training for this show just a few short weeks after the 2014 Mr. Olympia. Congrats on the win Juan!

Juan Morel Photo Shoot With Per Bernal

Juan Morel placed a controversial second ahead of Essa Obaid a couple of weekends ago at the PBW Tampa Pro.  In this video he is on set for a photo shoot with Tampa Pro winner Evan Centopani and esteemed photographer Per Bernal was behind the lens.
